Why Mentoring Matters to Lynda Ellis

Lynda Ellis, CEO and President of Capitol Concierge wants women to know that no matter where they are in their career, they don’t need to go it alone. “We’re all in this together,” said Lynda. “Mentorship is a two-way street. Not only does it have a profound impact on mentees, but also on mentors.”

Indeed. Lynda credits many mentors for helping her achieve business success. “From the time I started my first business through today, I have turned to other women CEOs for advice on anything from employee retention to how to obtain a work-life balance,” said Lynda. “That’s why I want to pay it forward and help young professionals find the success within them.”

While Lynda has mentored many women one-on-one, she also participates in the Washington Business Journal’s Bizwomen Mentoring Monday events. “I’m very excited to be selected to be a mentor at this year’s Mentoring Monday,” said Lynda. “The program is a one-of-a-kind event that connects women for an exchange of insight and advice.” Lynda has participated in the yearly event for the past several years.
